Marketing Moment
**************************

Marketing Principles; I recently created the following Ten Principles of Marketing
Yourself .  I thought you might find them helpful.  I suggest you
print them out and laminate them so you can keep them handy.

Ten Principles of Marketing Yourself

1. You market professional services which, mostly, are a
commodity.  You are the distinct product not your service.

2. Consider what will be different if you are successful three
years from today. Imagine who your clients will be.

3. Define marketing like farming.  Plant many seeds.  Cultivate
those that look promising. Harvest clients you want.

4. Marketing ought to be a pleasure.  Combine something you like
to do with planting seeds.

5. Market early every day.  That will get it out of the way, give
it the importance it deserves and energize you.

6. Know what your big break will be.

7. Everyone in marketing fears rejection.  Figure out what you
can do to get past call reluctance.

8. Focus on referral sources.  A steady stream of work from one
good referral source can sustain a career.

9. The number one attribute of a good marketer is time
management.  They spend time with referral sources, prospects,
clients and suspects in bunches.  They don’t waste face time on
suspects one at a time.

10. Market hope.  Pepper your conversation with success talk.

Let me know how you are doing and what you think of this
marketing moment.
